Hello friends, Welcome back to the new article on how to replace PowerShell with Command Prompt on File Explorer. It’s very very easy. Just follow my steps and you will get rid of the powerShell.
Step 1.
Simply search “regedit” on Cortana and click on run command.
Step 2.
On the address bar in the Registry Editor, paste “Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\cmd” and hit enter and then find CMD option in the side menu. and the permission dialog box will be open.
Step 3.
From the permissions dialog, hit Advanced and then hit the Change button next to the Owner field blue colored on the top of the Advanced dialog.
Step 4.
In the input field, enter your username, To find your username search cmd in Cortana and right click on it and click on run as administrator option. and then run this command “echo %username%” and paste it into the input field.
Step 5.
Back in the Permissions window, select Administrators from the list section and allow Full Control by clicking the “Allow checkbox” on the dialog, then apply the changes and after that close the window.
Step 6.
Now, delete the “HideBasedOnVelocityId” for CMD from the Registry Editor and restart the file explorer and you will see the changes.
