Introduction of HTML: HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is the building block for web pages. The HTML is the most widely used for design web pages. This language is so helpful for a starter to create a web page easily.
HTML Basics:
- Use a text editor to author an HTML document, like notepad, notepad++, sublime text, Adobe Dreamweaver etc.
- All HTML elements are represented by tags(all tags has a starting point and ending point. Example <tag name> elements </tag name>).
- An HTML file must have an html file extension.
- HTML page to display in a web browser.
Example:

Before study in HTML language you should have a basic knowledge of elements, attribute and tags.
HTML History:
Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) was created by Berners-Lee in late 1991. Berners-Lee specified HTML and wrote the browser and server software in late 1990. The first publicly available description of HTML was a document called HTML Tags. The HTML 2.0 was the first standard HTML specification which was published in 1995.
It 1999 a major version of HTML was published, it was HTML 4.01 version. Though the HTML 4.01 version is widely used but currently we are having HTML 5 version. HTML 5 is an extension to HTML 4.01 and this version was published in 2012.

In HTML web browsers are use to interpret and compose text, images, and other material into visual or audible web pages. In HTML language many of the text elements are found in the 1988 ISO technical report TR 9537 Techniques for using SGML. The HTML specifications have been maintained with input from commercial software vendors by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). HTML has been progressively moved in this direction with CSS.
